San Diego Automations (“SDA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a business based in San Diego, California. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit sandiegoautomations.com, fill out a form on our site, book a call with us, or email or text us, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Our text messaging program is described in our SMS Terms.
1. Information we collect
- Form information: when you fill out a form on our site (such as our Get started form), we collect your name, email address, phone number if you provide it, any details you type in, and whether you checked the optional SMS consent box.
- SMS consent records: if you check the SMS consent box, we keep a record of your phone number, the date and time, the form you used, and the consent wording shown to you. If you opt out, we record that too.
- Booking information: when you book a call with us through our scheduling provider, Calendly, Calendly collects your name, email address, the time you choose, and any answers you give, and shares them with us. Calendly’s own privacy policy also applies to information you give it.
- Messages: the content of emails and text messages you send us, and our replies.
- Basic technical information: like most websites, our hosting provider (WordPress.com) automatically processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you view, and gives us aggregated statistics such as page view counts. We do not use advertising trackers or ad pixels.
2. How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Respond to your inquiry by email, and by text message only if you checked the optional SMS consent box.
- Schedule calls with you and send booking confirmations and appointment reminders.
- Follow up with you about your request.
- Keep records of SMS consent and opt-out requests, and honor them.
- Operate, secure, and improve our website, including filtering spam form submissions.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your SMS opt-in to send you marketing or promotional text messages.
3. How we share your information
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
We share personal information only as needed to run our business:
- Service providers that process information on our behalf and under our instructions: our website host (WordPress.com, which also screens form submissions for spam), our scheduling provider (Calendly), our email provider, and our text messaging provider (Twilio). They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
- AI tool providers: we also use trusted service providers of AI tools that help us read, sort, and respond to messages and inquiries. They process your information only on our behalf and under confidentiality obligations, only to provide their services to us, and they may not use it for their own marketing.
- Legal and safety reasons: when required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of San Diego Automations, our customers, or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, sale, or transfer of all or part of our business, subject to this policy.
Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in data. We do not share, sell, or rent mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in data and consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except service providers (such as our text messaging provider) that process it only to deliver messages on our behalf.
Client and client-customer data
When we provide services to a business client, we process contact and message data about that client’s customers (for example, in CRM, scheduling, and messaging tools, including AI tools) only on the client’s behalf and under the client’s instructions, to deliver the services. We do not sell this data or use it for our own marketing.
4. Text messages (SMS)
If you check the optional SMS consent box on a form on sandiegoautomations.com, San Diego Automations will send text messages to the mobile number you provide about your inquiry, including replies, booking confirmations, and appointment reminders. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchase. 5. Cookies and tracking
Our website does not use advertising cookies. We use Jetpack Stats, the analytics built into WordPress.com (provided by Automattic), to count visits and see which pages are viewed. The booking calendar on our Get started page is provided by Calendly. When it loads, Calendly uses its own service providers, including Cloudflare (security), Stripe (fraud-prevention cookies), and Google reCAPTCHA (spam protection), which may set cookies or collect technical information such as your IP address and browser details. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features, such as the booking calendar, may not work without them.
Do Not Track: we do not track visitors across other websites for advertising, so our site does not respond differently to browser Do Not Track signals.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, including to respond to you, keep records of your consent and opt-out requests, and meet legal obligations. We keep opt-out records so that we don’t text you again after you’ve asked us to stop.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children’s privacy
Our website and services are meant for businesses and adults. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at jake@sandiegoautomations.com and we will delete it.
9. Your choices and rights
- Access, correction, and deletion: you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it by emailing jake@sandiegoautomations.com. We may need to verify your identity, and we may keep certain information when the law requires or allows it (for example, records of opt-out requests).
- Texts: reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts. See our SMS Terms.
- Email: to stop receiving emails from us, reply to any email and ask us to stop, or email jake@sandiegoautomations.com.
California residents. You can use the same email address, jake@sandiegoautomations.com, to make requests about your personal information. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we will not discriminate against you for making a request.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date above.
